Description

Fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) using at least 7 DNA probe sets to detect rearrangements, deletions, and copy number changes associated with chronic lymphocytic leukemia/ small lymphocytic lymphoma, consisting of the following: MYB, ATM, 12, 13q14.3, IgH (if IgH+, reflex to CCND1/IgH and IgH/BCL2), TP53, BCL3.

Specimen Requirements

Bone marrow or peripheral blood collected in sodium heparin (green topped) tube

Storage Requirements

Store specimens at room temperature (15 to 30°C) until transported, adding a cold (refrigerator) pack during the summer months.

Causes for Rejections

Decalcified tissues are not accepted.
