Description
Fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) using a DNA probe set to identify rearrangements of BRAF including BRAF/KIAA1549 fusion associated with pilocytic astrocytomas and low-grade gliomas. This probe set can also detect any other BRAF rearrangement partners (e.g., Spitz tumor, acinar-type neoplasms, etc.).

Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue, 4 unstained slides cut at 4 microns
Storage Requirements
Store specimens at room temperature (15 to 30°C) until transported, adding a cold (refrigerator) pack during the summer months.
Causes for Rejections
Decalcified tissues are not accepted.
